Getting a mentor can save you a lot of money in pipes and tobacco. Patience is extremely important and reading everything you can on the hobby is also a great way to learn. You will find that people have quite varying opinions on how to do things, one thing you should know, if you listen to me, you will never go wrong. :lol:

Just enjoy it! Read as much of the advice on here as you can and experiment to find the sort of things you like, but never stop experimenting (that's half the fun) :P

Welcome to the forums. I'll second Pipestud's advice. I learned a ton on the old Yahoo Pipesmokers2 group - still functiong, by the way - from guys like Steve, Joe Harb, JohnO, and many others.
