I remember being outside my high school in Las Vegas and there was a radio playing advertising a concert by the J. Geils band, and the announcer proclaimed: "J. Geils rocks!". Everybody within earshot started laughing.

Well not to one-thousand up you but when I was 13 or so I saw Slayer at the Clash of the Titans tour around '93 with Anthrax, Megadeath and some band named Alice in Chains opening.

I've seen Metallica with Cliff Burton, partied for many years with Corrosion of Conformity and there was this time I was at a bar to see Wrathchild America and the band that opened for them played songs from their upcoming album "Cowboys from Hell". We used to have a great music scene in Raleigh. It's all but gone now. The best show I ever went to was Tool though.
