Anyone here have any opinion on / experience with Oldenkott pipes ? Just interested as smokers, not interested in their Porsche pipes. Limited info on Pipedia.

Oldenkott was once one of the major German Pipebrands.
They made thousands, maybe even millions of pipes of different qulities, but mainly lower end till middle class.

Are you shure? I got it from a guy, that was smoking pipe in the 1960/70s. He got some Oldenkott pipes in his collection at that time.
But it’s nice anyways.
I had an Oldenkott pipe once, unsmoked from the 40s I believe. Very well made, but eventually moved on from it.

The abbreviation D.R.G.M. or DRGM stands for Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster, i.e. utility models registered in the period 1891-1945. So yeah, before 1945.

I have an Oldencott dublin that I smoked till the stem broke, and loved it so much that I made it into a spigot to keep smoking it. I still use it quite a bit.
Thanks all, especially Chris. I just ordered one from SP. It was really cheap, so maybe it won't be the best smoker, but the esthetics of the pipe were such that I just had to order it.
Again, that old scheme cheap smoker - poor smoker. This forum is full of threads discussing right that. Why not wait, until you really have smoked it? And then complain or not complain. Wondering why you purchased that „cheap“ pipe anyways.
