Old Prince Albert in a Can

Any PA fans out there who could put a reasonable guestimate on the age of this tin? I've got 6 or 7 of them, visually in good shape, unopened. (This one pictured has some surface rust around the rim and seam)





No clue if the ones without rust are worth trying to sell, or even if there would be any interest.

I see a UPC code, so after 1975. It was sold to John Middleton,Co. around 1987, so the range would be 1975–1987 on this tin.

Those tins don't hold moisture for long, and the tobacco is likely bone dry. You may want to check one first.

I opened the one pictured with the rust spots.
Surprisingly not bone dry- actually somewhat moist.

Well @TheIronMonkey took my guess. My guess was 1985 or 86 and only because thats the only time I bought a tin and it looked identical to that one.
Sad they don’t do that tin anymore
Oh, it would’ve been smoked in a Brebbia Calabash and I don’t remember how it was other than that was my only tin

I have a earlier vintage 12 pack box, but wasn’t sure how the papers were originally inserted in the packaging. Any idea if they were just tucked inside?

They were just loose inside the case box.

I'm pleased to read that. That's a rare event, and will help you sell them.

Great eye on spotting that UPC code............. I looked and looked......... FINALLY saw that little sliver on the right side...... You Sir are a detail man, I can tell!
