Old Pipe? Weird Shape

Is this an old pipe and if so what's the name of this shape? Never seen one like it before, a friend spotted it at a museum of living history and asked me about it, I'm not even sure it is a tobacco pipe

Looks like a smaller version of the Austrian Hunter Pipes. I am pretty sure this one is specifically German.

Given the vintage products surrounding the pipe, this probably is some kind of tableau set up at this museum.

The bowl portion looks sort of like a Captain Warren pipe, but the rest kind of like a Hunter.

Look on ebay de for a load of those as well as ebay france. Shipping is an issue but its good entertainment.
