I have looked all over the net for Old Gowrie. It seems everybody is out of it. Not only OG but the majority of their popular blends. This has been this way for a few months. I contacted a few of the shops, and they have no clue when Rattray is going to replenish. Has anybody learned any information about Rattray?
Thanks

Their products are pretty popular and hard to get. I had the same problem with Marlin Flake until some finally popped up on smokingpipes.com
I assume it's similar the issue with Esoterica and a few others like some of the F&T blends. They just can't keep up with demand.

NOt sure what the deal is... they've been in stock real regular for years, and I only recently bought Gowrie, Hal, and Clunee, and now ... yeah I can't find anything.

I just checked JRCigars and they are totally out of Rattray's tobacco. They usually have a good supply. I don't buy Rattrays's but I have never heard of them being in short supply. Something is up for sure. I think people forget that JRCigars sells pipe tobacco. I have used them for Samuel Gawith tins in the past. If you are willing to do the leg work, I am sure you can find some Rattray's at some small mom and pop tobacconists with little to no internet presence. It is how I found all of my Stonehaven in the past.

Thank you all - I thought I read the Dunhill Tobacco name was going to cease - I hope Rattray Tobacco does not as well

I need to change part of my post above, I actually do cellar one Rattray blend it being their Wallace Flake, I totally forgot about that. I realized that I have it when I was going through my order history on smokingpipes. I ordered 20 tins of it on 5/30/2015. I am going to crack a tin when it hits the 3 year mark.

Rattrays has been in short supply off and on since I started smoking a pipe. They had some in stock at my favorite B&M, and I fell in love with it. But, I could never find it in bulk at one of the sponsored websites, so I signed up to get an email when the bulk came in stock. It took about a year to get an email, and when I did, I had forgotten that I had signed up for it. But, I did order as much as I could afford at the time, and I am glad I did.
I don't think this is new, it comes and goes. Good stuff, and worth waiting for. But, if you wanted a tin to just try it out, you might try calling some of the B&Ms to see if they have a tin or two. I have some Hal O the Wynd open right now, and it is a very nice Virginia and fire cured blend with a healthy dose of nic-kick to it.

Rattrays comes and goes about once or twice a year, and sells out fast when it comes in. I seriously doubt its in any danger of being discontinued though.

In stock right now at Iwan Ries! Exotic Orange as well. I highly recommend EO if you have never been able to try this one.I played nicely and left for others. Two hard to find blends.
Good luck!

Keep in mind, that when someone posts that a hard to find tobacco is available at store X, then it will only be a matter of minutes before it's gone, so... you'd better hurry.
I posted a picture of a dozen reams of Balkan Sobranie tins that The Briary had available on a thread where guys where complaining about how hard to find it was. I posted it while I was still standing in line to pay for my tobacco when seconds later someone called to buy absolutely all of it.
