I'm an ambi, but hold the pipe left handed. The old boys seem to agree with right handed use.

Nice score buddy. I've got 2 from the same era, both working good, too. Both are barley, one gold plate the other nickel, I believe.
Also got 2 from the later 60's, a lapis lazuli & a hobnail pattern. From this era Dunhill matched the caps of the lighters with the main body, also included a "Dunhill" sticker on the inside of the cap.

With the rebuild kit do you have the option of making the flame angled (to better light a pipe)?

Depends if you can get hold of the angled needle valve. Which from what I' understand are like rocking horse sh!t.
I managed to get hold of 2 regular needle valves, to replace one that was split in one of my lighters.

Great find! I've got a half dozen of 'em, of various vintages. The hissing is an iffy o-ring seal on the filler, probably. You can put a few drops of low viscosity silicone lube on the filler port and flame nozzle valve, that often fixes the problem.
