My first suggestion would be not to force it. You might try putting it in the freezer for about an hour and see if it loosens up.

Thanks I tried hot tap water and twisting with gum rubber pads but no luck . Its a vulcanite stem ,maybe a low set hair drier , may give that a try . Like your pipe smoking mink avatar ,great critters to watch along a shoreline.

Look a little closer at FurCoat’s avatar , I didnt see it the first time he replied . Clever photoshop. Looks like a Kaywoodie “Campus” of the 60’s ,a great short drugstore find.

Never fly fished before. Seems like a lot of work and skills. Would like to some day though! River snot huh? That would have been a much cooler name for me!
