OLD BBB PIPE... anybody seen one like this before ??

My guess is that the stem is pressed amber. They are fragile, break easily, and leave a lot of crumbly bits. Yeah, I've had the heartbreak of a broken amber stem.

OMG that is beautiful. The only nice pipe I have ever found searching antique shops has been a Transition Era Barling Guinea Grain. That BBB is top shelf!

Currently going for just £62, seems very low.

Of course any other members can post ebay links (just not to your own). This a fascinating pipe. It's hard to realise a top value unless you are a power pipe seller. I also think you have too many words in your title - that sometimes locks your ad out of specific searches that the BBB or other collectors might have set. I'd have went with "1886 BBB Briar Pipe" or similar. Good luck, it will be fun to watch.

Its nice but I think it has been topped looking at the case. I may throw a bid on the thing as its a useful trade piece when 'cutty' shopping!
