In august of 19 I went to an auction of a B&M that was going out of business. and bought a couple of pipes and a box of CD blends 6 tins of Golden Days of Yore, 6 Yorktown, 6 Steamworks, and 6 Visions of Celephaïs.

I really didn't care for the visions at the time. This morning, I decided to give it another go and I don't know if it's me that changed or the blend has but this morning's smoke was very nice and tasty.

Did you jar it? I find that time in a jar can really change a blend for the better.

Nice score, btw👍

I really like Visions of Celephaïs. Sure, the first couple bowls were a shock, but I came to enjoy the grape flavoring, and it was interesting how the different components sometimes took turns presenting.

There's a guy around here who really enjoys it aged, as the topping is said to really mellow over time. (Let's see, it was @ChonkyTonks.) If you decide you still don't see the need to keep 5 more tins around, give us a holler!

@ThermionicScott, it is interesting how tastes change. I was all in for a while and have not had any of it for over a year at this point. What I find to be interesting about the blend is when it is jarred for two years+ it does not really have much of a smell compared to a newly opened tin. I have a jar of it from ‘19 I think and you wouldn’t even know it was Visions. I will probably open one of my older tins this summer and see what’s up.

I'll be interested in your thoughts!

One thing I appreciated about the blend is that while the topping noticeably faded as I worked through the tin, the base tobaccos were still interesting and tasty together. That's something I appreciate about a lot of GH&Co blends as well.

I am very interested in hearing the comparison of this blend aged versus new as well. I have a tin of Visions but haven't tried it yet. The Lovecraft series has many very good blends for sure!

No, the 1st one I opened I gave to a friend that liked it, but I found it hard to give away 5 unopened tins.

I was looking for something different the other day, so I opened one and though my wife said it smelled of grape bubble gum it was a sweet almost creamy Virginia tasting smoke. that I've enjoyed in 3 different pipes the last couple of days.
