I'm going to be making a pipe rack purchase very shortly, and I've decided I want to get a new(cheap) pipe with it, but I can't make up my mind. They're all MM's, one is the Diplomat straight, about 9 bucks. But then I saw the Ozark pipes, about 4.5 each(bent cherry, and straight maple), so I could get both for the price of the Diplomat. But I have never smoked out of a hardwood pipe before, so I don't know what they're like. Here are the links to the pipes.

I suppose I could get all three, but the rack I'm getting is a 6 pipe rack, and I'm wanting a Churchwarden down the road, that would make 7 pipes for me. And I'm just weird enough that would actually bother me. So what do you all think?

I don't have any experience with the MM wood pipes but I'd say stick to cob, meer, or briar. But I don't really know much.

Another vote for the Diplomat. I own three, two straight and one bent. They smoke great, love 'em!

I'm with OTD, get the diplomat for Mars Cigars. The ship stupid fast and are a great company to deal with.

My girlfriend seems to prefer hard wood, but then again, I've been drinking whiskey and she doesn't smoke a pipe.

I'd go with the cob.

Go with the cob... Go with the cob.

I have M&M cobs and M&M hard woods, The cobs smoke great and the woods just smoke. Go with COBS.

For inexpensive... cobs are the way to go. And so what if the pipes don't fit in the rack? Most of my pipes sit in olda cigar boxes. If I kept my pipes just to what I could fit in a rack I'd only have 26.
