Hello all, I just got my Savinelli 673 KS Roma Lucite (The Matches860 Friday Savinelli). What should I do not toruin it? I have already smoked half a bowl of Presbyterian in it and am ready to smoke some nightcap. This will definitely be an English blend only pipe. Any tips and tricks are greatly appreciated.

Sounds fantastic. My big pipe care tips:
1. Wipe/pipe cleaner after every bowl.

2. Smoke slowly, and if it gets more than warm, back off. Draw every six seconds or more, not fewer.

3. Every week or so, pour some whisky through it.
I am sure you will have a great experience with this pipe!

Don't run over it, don't use it as a golf club, don't use it as a straw to drink your favorite milk shake, and don't worry too much about it.
Oh, but more seriously, don't use a torch lighter. Soft flame only...

Don't store in direct sunlight. Buff it off with a rag or polishing cloth after you scoop it out, clean it with a pipe cleaner, and (I recommend) wipe it out with a paper towel or napkin (I'm not a cake builder and prefer this approach). Sav's are durable. I have two or three that go back thirty-plus years.

I never broke-in a pipe in my life, nor have I ever poured alcohol through one, and I have basket pipes that still smoke great after 40 years. Just pipeclean it after each smoke, don't knock the remnants out against a brick wall, don't carry it in your back pocket (especially lit, but even if not ;) ) and leave it rest a few days or a week if you smoke wet. I give the bowl a sniff and if it smells foul, it needs more rest.

Seems like your question has been well-answered. The only thing I could add is, if you use the balsa inserts, don't leave them in when you rest the pipe. I usually use them for 3 smokes or so, but even if there is only one smoke on them I make sure to pitch them when I rotate the pipe out for a long rest. They hold a lot of stink!
Congrats on the new Sav. I consider my 673 KS to be one of the better pipe purchases I have made.
