I'm really enjoying the cool smoking properties of MacBaren's Golden Extra. Are there Burleys that are known for their great room note? I would love a cooler, slower smoke, while my wife would strongly prefer a good smell. Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

House of Calabash has a blend called "First Morning Smoke" has aged burley (45 years old) in it - that is absolutely wonderful. Sterling/1776 Tobacco's has a plug burley blend called "Double Eagle" that tastes and smells great - 100% plug burley.

As a heavy Burley smoker myself, I would recommend John Patton's Storm Front. Burley and cigar leaf, big, bold flavor, and I have never gotten a complaint from the girlfriend when smoking it, which is always a plus. I have also heard that Cornell and Diehls Gentleman Callers is a good Burley, but I have yet to try that one.

I'm smoking Lane RLP-6.It's a good all day smoke.Similar to Captain Black-White
While this is a great smoke, and a nice aromatic, I don't really consider the burley to be the dominant element, though the taste comes through on occasion. I'd say the black cavendish is what stands out. I'm not sure if this is the type of blend futureman had in mind.
