That's funny, and I totally empathize with an artist who does this. I do this too. Someone wants to buy my best work right before an art show, and I hesitate because I want to go to the show, but ultimately the goal is to sell.

I have a show this weekend, and I am going without my newest work, because people contacted me. I just have to keep telling myself that selling is the goal.

That is a pretty pipe.

It's a disappointment, but it could be that you will get something more to your liking by having to shop more. Or that's a happier way to look at it.
