Because we as a nation don't have a 3 trillion dollar debt, we should spend money on warning labels on cigarettes really??????? No wonder we can't pay the bills.

Well, I decided not to post my original thoughts on this to keep from violating the forum rules. Let's just say it's no surprise that he appealed this, and leave it at that.

actually the government wouldn't actually have to design and print the labels.
i don't care - they could put pictures of cossacks raping babies and then dashing them against the rocks and it wouldn't diminish cigarette sales.
and those ex smokers are the worst, ain't they?
in all seriousness - i have faith in the strength of our constitution to combat this.
Edit: The gist of the rest of this post was to state that while this is a bad thing, it could always be worse.

Not a shocker to me either. pretending that you are doing something in the interest of public health is an easy way to pander votes.

I have a better idea.

Put this image on tobacco products, and in less than a year no one will ever want to smoke again....because the bad taste in their mouth will not be from the tobacco.

Please keep comments non-political and non partisan. Opinions on legislation are fair, but non-constructive and arguably offensive statements only work to find those they offend. I have been offended. Please talk about tobacco. Politically driven opinions, and other suggestive comments have ample arenas for venting on the web.
