Was reading around, being bored. And I came across this article written about the Christmas of 1944.
I'll take time out of this beautiful, albeit cold, time of year to think of what the world would be like without the men of action of yesteryear, in Europe and America alike.

Worked with an old man at Exxon he was a machinist, was at the Battle of the Bulge, in winter he could never get warm, people on the unit didn"t give him any outside jobs in winter in respect for what he went thru, very good man, he had another name for the battle but I can"t remember what it was. my uncle was there, his christmas dinner was frozen pears they pulled off of a tree...
he was the reason i joined the army...

My dad was there, his job was to pick up the dead. Would never talk much about it.
