Perlasca, I love Cumberland as well, don't know if I have the talent to create a churchwarden stem that long, but it is a great idea and Lohengrin I think I will take a shot at making a stem for the Mad Irishman, but I am brand new at stem making but I do realize to be considered a serious artisan I will need to develop that skill, I just hope I'm not too old at 55 to develop the skills needed to become a competent pipe maker.

Don't worry, I started to manufacture pipes one year ago whhen I was 58. I still didn't make my own stems, but it's interesting even to modify and adapt existing stems, what's matter is to give harmony to the pipe as a whole. I often made the mistake to concentrate on the briar and use stems on disposal. Now I want to pay same attention both to bowls and stems.
