Just arrived last night. Mailman destroyed the box cramming it into the mailbox, but the pipe is in great shape. It's a Peterson XL90 Emerald. Been keeping an eye out for one of these for a while now.

Agreed with Harris, that has some great grain. Very nice purchase, my friend, may it treat you well!

Thanks for the positive comments guys. I'm hoping to give it a first smoke tonight. The question is, what to smoke in it? I bought some Blackhouse but haven't tried it yet.
I don't know the 306 style, samcoffeeman, but will check it out. Always some degree of bend in my pipes as well.
Very nice, Keith! Did you get one of the other ones that was up on ebay? There were several that ended last week.

Thats a nice pipe, really liking the stout shank. Just really flows... really liking it.
Too bad about the box... pisses me off when they just cram shit into the mail slot! :x

Thanks, Mike. I'm pretty happy, I admit. I've been looking for one of these for a while and finally pulled the trigger. Hopefully tonight I'll finally have some time to relax and begin enjoying it. TGIF!
Thanks pipeinhand and captainprophesy. I have a few other Petersons but none in this style and have admired it for a while. The proportions are really nice. The grain on this one combined with being part of the Emerald line (green around the band) were what tipped me over on deciding to buy it.
We have a new mail carrier as of about two weeks ago. He's not gentle with the mail at all. If the pipe had been damaged, I might have had to open a can of devastation on him. I'm kidding... kind of... a little...

I would mention to him you have a door-bell or ask that he sit boxes on the porch.. depending on your mail-box location. My mail is at the end of a long driveway. When I get a box that won't fit he comes up to the house if no one is here he'll leave it and the rest of the mail in a chair on my porch. Your mailman is someone you want to become friendly with.
btw, great looking Pete..

Thanks numbersix, I'm finally about to take it for its maiden voyage while I go out and rake leaves on this chilly but dry day.
I do plan to have a talk with him, dochudson. He's new and so far, not so good. We have a community mailbox station with lots of individual small mailboxes and two larger boxes for packages. Either he's not very bright or just extremely lazy. The day the pipe arrived, the two larger mailboxes for packages were both empty. I hope it's a pleasant conversation, but admit I have my doubts. Anyway, thanks for the advice and compliment.
