This has nothing to do with safety, or health. It's all about money.
Here in NYS it would shock most people to know how much the state makes from weed shops. WAY more than from any other business. Between registration fees, application fees, state taxes, and multiple other fees and charges, you aren't opening even a small shop without $300,000.
A few years ago my friend opened a small lawnmower repair and sales shop. It cost him almost nothing.
He got the shop up and successfully running for under $6500. This included the lease for the property, the tools, lifts, sales counter and shelves, and all other overhead products like new parts.
Just recently a guy I've known for decades opened a weed shop. It cost $200,000 just to apply and get permits. All that went to the state, 100% of it. Now he owes thousands a month in fees, taxes, and other charges. Even the insurance is through NYS...national insurance companies cannot insure something that is federally prohibited.
This same guy has owned a "head shop" for 30 years in town. He makes glass pipes and sells other stuff.
He has run this business successfully for 3 decades on pocket change compared to his new business.
Great news! These weren't backordered, I just received the shipment today and I'll have everything on the site this weekend. There were over 25 different blends on the order!
Some more updates — I'll be adding PocketJars, Bones pipes by Chris Morgan, and some very sturdy waxed canvas pipe rolls — handmade in Columbia, TN! I own one of the pipe rolls myself and I can definitely say they're a "buy it for life" item.
Plenty of other products are on the way as well. Including some Wessex blends that will be restocked.
