I saw the aurora borealis in the late summer, early fall of 1984, in Alaska. No colors, just a shimmering white curtain in the sky. My closest equivalent experience was seeing a tropical coral reef for the first time. Both were life changing and affirming experiences. I have promised myself that one day I will see the aurora in color.
Mother Nature treated me and a colleague to a spectacular show with the Auroras over the Atlantic one night. We were enroute to Europe and the tracks crossing that night were further north than usual for the time of year. We were much closer to Greenland and Iceland. I watched the sky wave and sway back and forth for several hours. It truly was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. I was so mesmerized by the lights that I never thought to take a picture. Well, and I was busy doing my job too. Still, I wish I would have taken a picture or a few seconds of video.
Love your pics. Its looks amazing. I love traveling and take pics during travel. My last trip was to Chicago. Before travel I read info about this city here and took many pics for my instagram. Especially if you are travelling to a place you have never visited before, everything seems fresh and new. New stimuli attack all your senses.
