Out of respect for the truth or, in making a reasonable attempt to get at the truth, I am therefore compelled to report that, in The Book Of Pipes And Tobacco, Carl Ehwa attributes gurgling pipes as sometimes due to misalignment of the draft holes! Further, the solution he offers is, "Throw the pipe away."
