I like mine but I have to be selective about what I put in it. Blends that have rough edges or ability to bite are no good because—in my experience—the bright ends are elevated to harshness and the low ends are attenuated.

Here's my thoughts in the context of comparison with the Eltang Basic.

I once heard the aesthetics of the Nording Compass described as, "a bespoke crack pipe" and ever since then I've never had the courage to pick one up and try it out. They sure do have a unique look to them and I've also heard that they're very good smokers, but I don't need the police showing up with questions when I'm just sitting on a park bench trying to enjoy my pipe. 😅

Great for travel. Packed 2 of 'em in a backpack for a month and just alternated between the two. Great for that purpose and maybe working in the yard. Lightweight and great beaters.

My wife got me a red one for Valentines Day a few years back. It smokes really well. I probably wouldn’t have bought it on my own, but I really do enjoy it now that I have it.

I like mine. I just leave it in my camper. It takes up almost no room and I always have a pipe.

I have two. They're reasonable for travel but honestly, I think Falcons are better. The bowls on the Compass pipes are tiny, and you just get more options and flexibility with a Falcon.

Have any of you guys have the bowl fall off like @solideogloria86 experienced?

I bought a MacArthur one a few years ago and don't use it much as it's more for traveling. I thought I'd like the long shank but prefer the short one instead. Great for camping, not overly expensive.

Anybody a fan of the nording compass pipes? I'm debating trying one out.
I just pulled the trigger on one about a week ago. It's in transit now. I'm interested in comparing it to a little shop pipe I made myself a while back. I'll let you know how it is when I get a few bowls through it.
