Looking at the Nordings in my collection, it may very well work just fine with many Nording freehands. But I'm not so sure I'd trust it with any of the higher grades without properly fitting the tenon to the shank. Personally, I'd just order a Nording churchwarden. There tend to be plenty of them in the lower cost lines such as the Signature. And those are great pipes. In fact, I can't for the life of me figure out why I don't have a Signature line or similar churchwarden.

Good advice. I have two Nordings, one a free hand and another a natural and the stems do NOT fit each other. I have been considering a churchwarden and Nording is one brand so I was intrigued by the stem and its actual implementation.
