So, I just went to clean out my Medico bent billiard - not the nicest pipe in any collection, but my first smoker. I grabbed ahold of the stem, gave it a light twist, and *crack*...the stem has snapped off in my hands. The crack is down the length and clean, so I am going to try some MEK and 24 hours in a vice, but damn that was a depressing feeling.

It,s a sad day when A pipe brakes, don,t matter what it looks like just if someone likes too smoke it. :crying:

What a bummer! Is it the stem or shank? I got a great pipe repair guy in Santa Rosa who has repaired some pretty gnarly shank breaks...also does great stem replacement too. Here's a link to his workshop:
