as im only 20, im not of legal age to drink just yet. part of the pipe appeal to me is the atmosphere, a big party of which is the beverage. so far ive stuck with an arnold palmer or hot tea. any other suggestions for a good, non alcoholic drink?

A good strong cup of black coffee (preferably made in French Press) and a good latakia mixture always an excellent choice. Either early in the morning or late in the evening.
I had a second thought about this. If you are looking for a flavor overload; try Paladin Black Cherry and a Cherry Coke.

black coffee or tea pretty well year round--
iced coffee or sweet iced tea on the porch during the summer--it's 99F out there right now!

I'll throw-in with you coffee guys. It's what I mostly drink with my smokes. I use CoffeeMate™ with a mere touch of Splenda™ sweetner in the morning, and straight black coffee the rest of the day. Cold in the summer, and hot the rest of the year. Occasionally, in the winter I'll have tea: Earl Grey, hot. The oil of bergomot, orangey and citrus-like, seems to enhance the tobacco taste and leaves a nice finish.

Coffee, both hot and iced is hard to beat with a good Pipe...

I also drink cold filtered water and Luzianne Iced Tea.

Yeah I usually drink iced water or coffee of some sort. I have been known to sip single malt whisky from time to time, and a pipe does go good with it, but I don't usually go out of my way to enjoy the 2 together...just happens that way. Even then I have a glass of iced water on the side.

There is one soft drink that hasn't been mentioned.

Unfortunately you "Yankees" and those a little higher up the map probably can't acquire, and that's Buffalo Rock Ginger Ale.

No offense guys but that Canada Dry stuff don't cut it. If ginger was dynamite Canada Dry couldn't blow its nose. But, Buffalo Rock, well it could create another Grand Canyon. It is a little strong, but it goes very well with a pipe.

I felt naked without one in my hand for years. I still rarely go more than a day without one.

Petersons Connoisseur's Choice and a cappuccino is a great combination.

I've found that various sparkling/mineral waters go well with most tobacco. I find the effervescence/carbonation pops on my tongue, keeping my taste buds awake. I prefer San Pellegrino, especially with cigars, and at a $1 or so a liter, its not too expensive. In a pinch, I just use club soda.
Keep in mind that citrus-based drinks, or actual lemon juice in a drink, like lemon in water, will cut through a tobacco taste, and might spoil (or not) your smoking experience.
