Going there in a couple of months, All is non-smoking now? Love that place, best food in the world, Courts of 2 Sisters, Arnauds, Brennans, et all. Want to try John Besh & see WW2 museum.

A smoke free casino? What a shame.
I love taking family and visitors to our nearby Native American casinos. It's a treat being able to light up in a public building these days.
I never smoke playing table games, but put me in front of an out of the way slot machine and I'm good to go with a cup of coffee until everybody is ready to call it a night.

We have a Reservation within Fredericton's city limits, smoking is banned pretty much everywhere in the city but at the casino/bingo hall its wide open. No cheap tobacco though, they get to keep a part of the taxes on any sold to non natives. I've never been in but it would be a potential meeting place for a club

While you can't smoke indoors any more, patios, etc. are all pretty open to smoking and the weather is usually conducive. The WW2 Museum is definitely worth the visit. The Tinder Box in Meterie has a good tobacco selection and I recall taxes being similar to Maryland (30%). You can smoke inside the Mall store.

instymp, the New Orleans Pipe Club meets usually around the second Thursday of each month in Metairie at World of Beers on Veteran's Highway. It has a large patio area upstairs where smoking is allowed. We've been meeting there for over a year and have never had a problem. Food is ok Pub type food and they advertise having over 100 different beers available.
Let us know when your trip is getting closer.

We ate at World of Beers during pipe show weekend, it was cold and my family wanted to watch the Saints Sunday night game. I asked for Abita Lager - "we're out". Ok, a Yuenglings? "we're out". I had a lot of fun with the waitress on that interaction.

The patio did look nice, but way too cold that evening (figures...). Food was pretty decent.

Pipe smokers need to band together and buy a fancy RV to smoke in wherever there is a convention -- or not. Just drive around with a big tobacco leaf painted on the side and a pound of OJK on the dash.

And there is a restaurant Anthony Bourdain visited on lake Pontchartrain, an old seafood place like I love, built out out of wood a hundred years ago, on the water & the Chef/Fisherman catches most himself, crabs & mudbugs. Like Old Fl & southern coastal seafood restaurants were in the 60's, but sold our business & now retired & brain dead can't think of it. Clues welcome.

Deanie's Seafood in in Bucktown but it's a couple of blocks from Lake Pontchartrain.

The only one close to fitting your description that I can think of is about 45 minutes from New Orleans. It's Middendorf's in Manchac, La.
