Beware the morality police!
What I loved so much about law school was how much it mirrored the philosophy of the Christian Church I was raised up in.

On the first day of law school students are taught:

1. As a general rule the government cannot compel you to do anything.

Yes, we must pay taxes, register for the draft, and during natural disasters we might have to evacuate, but a strong swimmer can walk up a pond where a little girl is drowning, and watch her drown. We do not have to do, twiddly squat.

2. As a rule, then we can do any damned thing we want to do, we can dance naked at midnight with wild women in the graveyard,,,worship a golden calf,,,,do just anything,,,unless there’s a valid law against it.

That is freedom. We don’t have to do anything and can do anything we like if it’s not illegal.

These pouches use laboratory grade nicotine.

There’s not an atom of tobacco in them.

I’ve not tried them yet, but a sub clinical dose of a synthetic fentanyl or other opiates would be even a better buzz than nicotine.

Forgive my ignorance, but what makes these pouches functionally different than, say, nicotine gum or patches?
Marketing

Nicotine gum and patches are sold in pharmacies and maybe other places, to quit tobacco.

These are candy in a pouch.

They are sold as an alternative way to get addicted to nicotine,,,,in varying doses.

A kid could pop these in class and there is no way in hell a teacher could bust them.

i enjoy them from time to time in the machine shop just large enough to have an hr department and accompanying rules and regulations. guess the sodas and junk food in the vending machines are ok though.

In the semi-rural NorthEastern USA
I’ve had the snuff tobacco pouches but these are another critter entirely.

These have no tobacco whatsoever.

The nicotine pouches are made from chemical ingredients designed in a laboratory.

There’s no burn, they taste like a really good breath mint, and unlike snuff pouches our friend Vitamin N comes over and belts you.:)
The lack of burn is because they're weak and don't have a lot of nicotine. The burn we get from nicotine is from not being used to the localized constriction of blood vessels.
Pouches come in 3 or 6 mg nicotine your choice, same price.

Remember a nicotine addict like me is like the town drunk about nicotine.

God knows what my blood levels of nicotine are, because I don’t let them get low.:)
That explains it. It's not the pouches it's the pouches on top of your already steady drip of nicotine into your bloodstream. They're actually incredibly weak. I think the engineering is just not having anything that slows the intake of the nicotine. I also noticed the same thing. How it felt closer to a cig then dip. But I don't think it's chemically altered as much as just raw nicotine in an easily dissolvable powder form.
These pouches are supremely effective at quick delivery of nicotine. That’s all they were engineered to do.

The taste is sort of like Pepto Bismal tasting like wintergreen,,,,,or does wintergreen taste like Pepto Bismal?.:)
Other way round Pepto is flavored with wintergreen.
Frankly I don't like those pouches. They remind me of most vapes. Where you're only getting nicotine and not all of the things that in tobacco. When we smoke we are actually getting all of the different compounds in the leaf. Vapes and those pouches do not fully scratch my tobacco itch.

All the places that forbid smoking also now, forbid vaping.

It looks like smoking.

The morality snobs hate immoral behavior.

There’s still an old courthouse I sometimes go to that has the century old signs:

NO SPITTING

They hated seeing men chew tobacco.

If today on an airplane you chewed nicotine gum or put on a nicotine patch the airline hostess wouldn’t tell the captain.

Your passenger beside you wouldn’t play Judas or Karen about it.

When the do gooders understand how the nicotine pouch makers are selling pure nicotine doses in a candy base they’ll do something about it.

To save the children, you know?.:)

Definitely not the first time nicotine has been marketed to kids to ensure a profitable future for shareholders.

Snus are a form of tobacco. The do gooders are against tobacco and use the health hazards as an excuse.
Sin.. Evil.. Words to express one's thought when one doesn't agree with other's actions/thought/desire. Or otherwise known as excuses.

My Amish friend drinks water.

If I have a cooler, he’ll first take bottled water and then juice, and if no juice soda pop, but never, ever beer. He’s a sinner if he drinks beer. He sins if he has air conditioning or central heat or a car or truck.

He also doesn’t use tobacco, period.

The Amish stores carry caffeinated soda pop and young Amish kids buy it.

They’d buy nicotine pouches too.

What makes the nicotine patches evil, is they are NOT sinful.

Even chewing gum is detectable. You can’t chew gum in class at school, or at least couldn’t 50 years ago. My wooden school desks always had hard lumps of gum stuck on the bottom.

Kids are going to swallow the nicotine pouches when the teacher comes close.

Shouldn’t hurt em much.
