I'd say that it varies throughout the day. The first pipe of the day usually hits me harder than the subsequent ones. Same for cigarettes (which I smoke infrequently, as well - used to smoke these daily).
All in all I think my nicotine tolerance is pretty average for a daily smoker. However, I often smoke a bowl in two stages, letting the pipe rest a bit, since I often let it smoke a bit hot (I'm still in the process of becoming a patient pipe smoker ;-) ).
It has been years since I've felt dizzy from nicotine. If I smoke too much, all I feel is a passing "tingly" sensation in my stomach.
Some of you mentioned "nicups". Is this short for nicotine hiccups? Never heard of that before!
Is N something repeated exposure to higher doses builds a tolerance?
I always quit when I'm getting kicked in the head...so maybe I reinforce my low tolerance level.
Repeated exposure to even low or moderate amounts of nicotine is going to lead to tolerance. No reason to keep smoking if you feel like the nicotine is too much.
(ps. I hope it's alright that I 'revived' this thread, even though it's a couple of years old).
