Of all the blends mentioned, I've only smoked 2: Irish Flake and Jack Knife Plug. I can definitely attest to the high vit N content of both. The taste and experience of the two are very different though. IF is a very straight forward, strong, quality VA flake. JKP is most unique and unusual imo...and very good. Don't really know what to compare it to, but it's definitely got a taste all its own imo, and anything but boring. In one of the articles or reviews I remember it being said that if Clint Eastwood's man-with-no-name, spaghetti western character smoked a pipe, it'd be loaded with JKP. I'd have to agree. I suspect it was what Col. Mortimer was smoking in For a Few Dollars More.

I'm really liking the sound of the JackKnife Plug! Anyone have a lil to spare so I could try a bowl? I would hate to buy it and never smoke it.

Sorry, don't have it on hand at the moment, but I don't think you'll regret trying a tin of it. I am also curious if anyone has tried both the plug and the ready rubbed version and how they would compare them...any significant difference?

1792, five brothers, birdseye, and a few plugs and ropes are the HIGHEST I have tried, 1792 and 5 brothers were almost too much for me, great smokes but almost too much. Birdseye was the least strong, id saya 5 brothers the most.
just my 2 cents

Here is the thing gents. My fiance went for her first ultrasound yesterday. And while staring at the picture of our unborn child I decided to stop the nails. Cigarettes are a nasty habit. There is honor and art in pipe smoking. I want my children to remember me for a calm fair nature. Not as the dad who got edgy if he didn't have his cancer sticks.
WOW, you are a luck man to be starting this journey. God speed and remember to be that calm fair man. Congrats.......

Irish Flake is a good one, but for a nice cig replacement I'd also try Irish Oak.
I am also trying to quit cigs. I found a surprisingly good substitute to use in combination with pipes: nasal snuff

Just had a bowl of Dark Birdseys layered with 5 Brothers in a smokindragon custom cob, big bowl full. I must admit it hit the spot. Just a slight head rush- it is almost perfect, kinda like when you don't have a cig for a day or two and then smoke one.

Permit me to suggest the following:
G.L. Pease Haddos Delight
John Pattons Storm Front
MacBaren Golden Extra
Haddos is no joke. That stuff will put some hair on the hair on your chest. Storm Front is a little less extreme but still has a good kick. MacBaren Golden Extra after a big meal will put you down for a nap, and if smoked on an empty stomach...well, do yourself a favor and dont smoke any of these on an empty stomach
EDIT: I almost forgot Cornell and Diehls Habana Daydreams. Cigar leaf and latakia, yum!

Peterson's Irish Flake, Gawith and Hoggarth's Dark Flake Unscented as well as their ropes pack a real punch. It is hard to suggest tobaccos that give a big nicotine hit because every person is different. I cannot even smoke these blends, they make me a bit queasy. However, I believe luxury twist flake was mentioned earlier and I didn't notice any nicotine in that. Dunhill Nightcap is a good english blend with a nice amount of nicotine.

Agree, smoking some Irish Flake right now and it is very good...also

some SG-1792, Bracken and perhaps anything with good burley and

Dark fired kentucky. Solani's Aged burley flake is an outstanding blend as

well

I can't suggest anything more than everyone else already has. The classic high nic tobaccos like 1792, Petersons University Flake, Five Brothers, ropes...etc. Congrats on being a dad to be and congrats on quitting the nails. Puff long and prosper brother.

Heck yea Juni! I found Poschel's Red Bull Strong snuff has quite a nic hit. And just ordered Q snuff menthol because it is said to have a nicotine "SLAP" 8O It should arrive Wednesday. Being a dad who cant smoke inside snuff is a good way to curb cravings. Willsons of Sharrow is great stuff and 25 G. is only $4 and lasts a month of heavy snuffing. Have you found any nic heavy snuffs I should try?
