I'm looking for a tobacco with a nice nicotine hit. What's you guys suggestions? I've been thinking about some Irish Flake. I've read reviews online and wanna get real opinions.

I recently smoked Butera's Royal Vintage Golden Cake, it is a flake cut, here is the description off of the can. A wonderful Bright, Golden Virginia long leaf, ripened to perfection, mellowed for years. Then flue-cured until fully seasoned. Layered and aged in cakes, the natural sugars and oils are released and held under pressure to further enhance the individual zest of each leaf. The tobacco is sliced into beautiful flakes. I smoked a small bowl of this and had a good buzz.

Dunhill Flake or Peter Stokkebye Luxury Twist Flake. IMHO these are both very similar, except for the light casting on the PSLTF. They are both VAs, and they both have similar smoking qualities, and from my experience about half way in the bowl the Nic starts to hit. And it'll hit pretty hard. Gives me hic ups, but is a small price to pay for good smoke.

I have managed to aquire 2 pouches of 5 Bro's and 2oz of Dark Birdseye. I have now, after smoking each, several times, decided that I must be immune to Nicotine. They are just a nice smoke, and may actually become my base for layering, to replace the hellish expensive Drum.

Oh! So, you want a real nic-hit? Try C&D's Riverboat Gambler but be sure that your pants legs are tied shut!
By the way, if that is too much for you, Captain Bob's Pot O' Gold Mixture contains 1/3 (one-third) of the tobacco leaf in Riverboat Gambler.
So, if it is too much, there is an alternative! Seriously, Riverboat Gambler is the most serious tobacco without Latakia that I have ever smoked. Be careful!

Here is the thing gents. My fiance went for her first ultrasound yesterday. And while staring at the picture of our unborn child I decided to stop the nails. Cigarettes are a nasty habit. There is honor and art in pipe smoking. I want my children to remember me for a calm fair nature. Not as the dad who got edgy if he didn't have his cancer sticks.

irishsmoker, I agree, cancer sticks are bad! But, nicotine is a factor. It's like having a drink of whiskey... it relaxes you. The difference is, pipe tobacco is not inhaled. The nicotine is absorbed through the mouth tissues not the lung tissues. That is why studies have shown that pipe smoker's live to a ripe old age.

If you want a good nicotine hit, AND a load of flavor, try JackKnife Plug. It's got it all in ample supply. The ReadyRubbed version is great, too.
