I enjoy Watch City Slices but I like most WC blends. It may not be the Rum bomb you're looking for but it's damn tasty.

Seems to be more Burley forward from my understanding, not so much a Traditional Rum blend. hmm

I always thought Rum blends, Navy, etc, are VA forward.

I don’t think WCC Slices is a rum bomb either, from reading, which is what I’m after.

I want the all Rummy and like an ole salty dog.... argggh ? ?‍☠️ LOL ?

Non-aro(ish): Salty Dogs, Blockade Runner

Latakia: Black Frigate, SPC Mississippi River Rum Barrel Aged

Aro: Russ’s Bold Rum, Barbados Plantation

My personal favorite by a long shot is Salty Dogs. An amazingly rich dense plug. I have so much cellared I’ve begun storing it in different cuts to see if it varies over time, haha. Full plug, flakes, broken flakes, rubbed out, and cut into fine shag. Time will tell!

@alaskanpiper how’s the rum strength/taste on the Salty Dogs?

By the way, noticed your Castello Aristocratica Lovat, wow, what a beaut! :)
To me, just the right amount. Enough to compliment the tobacco without being the dominant flavor in the blend as a whole. If there were such a thing as an “aromatic scale” (which now that I think about it there oughta be!) I’d put it somewhere in the neighborhood of 2/10.

I hope that makes sense, haha. And thanks! That was the maiden smoke for that lovat. I have an Aristocratica Fiamatta 55 that I use for VA based blends (predominantly flakes), so this one will be for Latakia blends.

Black Frigate and Salty Dogs, you’ve tried them?

The review on Salty Dogs, Jim mentioned it as a ‘Light Application’. I want heavy, serious rum... LOL Of course not disgustingly heavy, but really rich bold rum flavor.

I rarely smoke Latakia, don’t care much for it, not sure how present tasting it is in the Black Frigate, it did sound possibly decent on the reviews.

Thanks

P.S. If anyone has some rum blends/samples they can shoot my way, I will certainly pay to give some a try, don’t want anyone going out of their way.

Why not add your own rum to an already rum-infused blend?

Newminster had a good rum blend five or six years ago. I think I bought a tin from smokingpipes.com. I remember as being a nice smoke. Can't say why I never bought more of it.
