Neither team could score ! Thank gawd' that one is over. Panthers draw first blood.

If every player is going to fake the dive/injury on anything related to a high stick they need to take acting lessons. it's getting ridiculous.

LV tonight, let's see how this one lays out. It should be more upbeat and energy packed than last nights sleeper.

Both teams were feeling each other out. Dallas is gonna' need more fire in Game 2. There were some soft ref calls which I didn't agree with. It's the job of a player to hang onto his stick and someone knocking it out of his hands shouldn't be a penalty.

If that's the best that Dallas has - they are in trouble. I'm still sticking with LV as being this years Cup winner.

And Go Panthers ! :)

My favorite period in hockey is and has always been the 2nd, what they call the "bad change" period, due to the extra distance defenders need to skate from their own zone to the bench, and 1st OT is the same deal. It makes the line changes riskier, and the GWG today was a perfect example. Dallas' two D-men tried to swap with fresh bodies there, and Vegas ostensibly had a 4 on 2 rush into the offensive zone. Oettinger gave up a big juicy rebound there, and that was all it took. Stars need to win both home games to have any chance.

On another note, why does Tkachuk feel the need to immediately exit the ice after scoring the GWG? Does he not want to get pelted with debris by the fans? Is there a gloryhole in the darkness behind where the Zamboni is parked? What gives?

Gretzky talked about that 2nd period being tough. This goal by Barkov was amazing, and caught the Hurricanes napping. I had opened a FanDuel account earlier in the day, to place a Preakness bet (my son-in-laws Father and I won $80 on the Exacta!) I had $30 left over cash, so I thought, "there's no way the Hurricanes lose two in a row at home" and bet the $30 for a Canes win. Thanks Carolina....

Bet #72 is thanking his goalposts. Lots of iron hit tonight, at least three or four by my count.

Patrick Roy used to talk to his goalposts, called them "my friends." Nowadays of course, that sort of behavior would garner you an immediate drug test.

Any good Kings fan (not me, of course...I'm just a Kings fan. The "good" part is debatable) knows all about coming back from 0-3, but I don't see it happening here. Panthers just give you no time or space out there, smothering defense, and while their PP isn't up to Edmonton's level, it's respectable.

Any update on Barkov?

Coach Maurice said Barkov has LBI and that it doesn't appear to be anything sinister. Hmm. Groin/Genitals?..He sure skated off kinda' funny.

I guess never say never, Canes could still come back and take all 4. Ya just never know.

LV gonna' be dimming out the lights on them Dallas Stargazers' !

After the Kings (no surprise) got bounced, I got behind Florida for knocking out the Bruins, so I’m digging it.
During the second round I was calling Carolina vs Vegas. I didn’t see Florida sitting where they are today. But wow!! Bruins, Leafs and now Carolina…… how many teams have come back 0-3 this deep into the season?
Stanley Cup’s new home is going to be in hot climate.
