As somebody they grew up in Florida before there was hockey, then lives in Boston for 18 years and has my entire family from Boston originally, now lives back in Florida. I don’t know I guess the Oilers? Oh wait no that’s not right. Actually, I can’t give two shits about the Panthers but I’m a huge number 63 fan so I’m super happy for the guy. Hope he gets a chance to raise another cup. Then the Bruins can fire Sweeney.
Right, the Bruins seem to be a dumpster fire right now. I love #63. I hope the Capitals take a shot on him for next season. Can you imagine him with Wilson and Ovie?

I’ve not followed hockey much since Hossa retired and the plandemic, but would love to see Marchand raise another as well!

The Panthers damaged the Cup last night, apparently riding around town in a golf cart. I live that the players get to have the Cup.
Cups been damaged several times. Each player gets a turn to bring it back to their community. My little brother lives up in iquluit nunavut and has a picture of my niece in the cup when she was a baby. It's a very much yes you can touch it kind of trophy

Yep. A book came out last year about the adventures the Cup has had. I heard the author interviewed earlier this year on the XM NHL channel. The Lightning dinged it up two years ago.

This guy shows up to the panthers and two of the players he has been saying he hates the most are actually on that team and everyone welcomes him like a best friend. It’s amazing how much the other players there talk about him, he keeps the locker room loose, works as hard if not harder than anyone on the team, he rallies them like a captain and he gives his all on the ice. He’s grown up a lot in the last 16 yrs. Good on him i was thrilled to see him hoist the Cup.

I think that happened the night of the win, top and bottom, there are three cups actually the actual “cup” had been retired as the silver is too thin to repair anymore and a travel cup and a presentation cup which they switch in and out depending on if one is being repaired.

Had a few friends that live in south Florida and were at the Elbo Room that next morning for the celebration. They said it was awake only a couple hundred fans and when the players came down to get on the cart they were shaking hands with fans high fives all that no police barricades like other sports, just fans and players and the Cup. (But yes there were cops in case).

Congrats to Florida. They have definitely assembled a power house team. Their defense was so good throughout the playoffs. Oilers have been great the last two years, but just didn't have enough to get past the Panthers, again.

Not sure what's going on with Florida hockey, but who would have thought that warm weather Florida would be a hot-bed of great hockey teams. With six straight Stanley Cup appearances. Tampa Bay won two of three Stanley Cups recently, and now the Panthers are two for three. Will the Panthers make to their fourth Stanley Cup in a row next year???

In 2024 approximately 10% of the population of Canada went to visit Florida.

"In 2024, Canada strengthened its lead with 3.41 million visitors, once again the top international source market for Florida."

I suspect the Canadians have all fled the heat and are back in Canada by the time the playoffs start.
