Savinellis are very nice pipes but as a side note and based on my own experience,I wouldn't suggest buying from Savinelli Tre line pipes, mine performs very well but the bowl varnish and finish were a lot to be desired, all lacquer finishes waded away within the first week of use.

I really like the bent shapes and I haven't heard much on the radice. Is the rind a mid range line for them?

Here are a few that would be nice all around pipes. Winslow males a very fine pipe.

I have three Radice pipes - One Rind Bent Pot, One Clear Cutty and a Silk Cut Dublin and have to say that they all smoke just as good as my Castello Sea Rock. As for if the Rind is mid-range, well I consider all their works top-notch and their pricing ranges from $170 into the thousands.
Radice Pipes
Luigi "Gigi" Radice began making pipes in 1960 for Castello before leaving in 1968 to co-found Caminetto. In 1980, he founded Radice pipes and has been a cornerstone for shaping and craftsmanship ever since. Along with Gianluca and Marzio (his sons) in Cucciago, Italy, they produce between 1,200 and 1,500 pipes annually.
This brand's shaping is, of course, Italian. After all, it was Luigi who pioneered many of what we would today consider to be classics. Innovative designs (like the twin-bore stems which were just recently abandoned for single-hole stems), new rusticating and carving styles, and oil curing helped to place the brand where it is today. Many of their shapes end up smooth, but they also produce some wonderful sandblasts (Silk Cut), shallow-rusticated pieces (Rind), and more ruggedly-carved Underwood pipes that can sometimes be accented with briar, horn, or silver with acrylic mouthpieces.

I have cleaned plenty of cheap estate pipes with success so I'm definitely not above a buying an estate but I have never been able to buy a higher end piece. My collection right I would say the higher end pipes consists of 2 comoys 215 traditions , a grand slam, a nording and Thompson's meerschaum the rest are grabows, cobs and no names

These are supposed to be very good pipes as well. I would buy one if they had vulcanite stems.
