Welcome aboard!
Thank you Sir!
Classy, good looking stand. Couldn't help but notice the atlas for 66, have you made the drive?
Thanks! I've never driven the entire route at once, but over the years I've been on many various alignments, most notably, I rode the abandoned sections from Arizona to California on a dual sport motorcycle. That was lots of fun. Planning an entire length trip, Chicago to Santa Monica, in retirement. Hopefully God's laughing with me, not at me.

Starting in Chicago right? Those abandoned sections are trippy, did you talk with any locals? All I would do is drive the country smoking pipes if I had the wherewithal, good luck in your retirement plans.

Inspiring. I should give it a whirl. I've been wanting a rack since pipes are just laying in their socks in the cupboard. It'd be nice to have them out so I can see them.

Well done sir...that is one very substantial pipe rack.

I haven't made a rack in some time but Minwax Gunstock is my go to finish as well. :puffy:

Meeting the locals was one of the best parts of the trip. When you travel by motorcycle, you sometimes have to rely on the kindness of strangers. There are a whole lot of good people in this country. I like your idea. It many not require as much as you think. Do it, at least for a while, and carry a few new cobs for the people you meet.Good luck!

Nice work! I have some oak set aside for a project of my own. Do you mind me asking what centre distances you used for the rests?
