So in addition to adding 2 concobs to my small, but growing, collection; I also picked up a tin of Royal Yacht. This is the first tin I've acquired as I've been smoking bulk for the last month or so.
Now for the total newbie question...how do I get the d*** tin open? I was planning to have a late evening smoke and try it last night after returning home from a bday dinner for a friend. No such luck. Still closed and I smoked the bulk blend again.

Use a coin to pop it open there should be a little grove on the side to help the coin set in but there does not have to be it will still pop open

Hahaha don't feel stupid a couple of my buddies when they first started I neglected to tell them how to open it up and they had to call me and ask lol. I use one of my knives to open it, but hell sometimes those lids are on tight even after you get some of the air out.

Not a dumb question at all! That issue arises because there's an implicit suggestion

that the lid can be twisted off like a jar lid; and prying it open with a coin, as intended,

seems a bit more forceful than we'd all like to be with our precious new acquisition.

Ha! Yep I twisted and twisted, but nothing! Even tried this morning before swallowing my pride and presenting my ignorance to the braintrust! :worship:
Looking forward to trying it soon!

I think we all had trouble with them at first. Remember they have a seal and vacumn on them. I find a large flat screwdriver works very well and won't tear up the tin.

I was most fortunate. I purchased my first tin at a B&M and wanted to smoke some right there. After purchasing it, I said, "All right Mike, now how do you open this damned thing?" :D

HaHa, I was so pissed I threw my first tin at a wall to try to open it. Then I read insert coin here on the side and felt really bad. Oh well

I just use the ever handy pocket knife... I have burned a few shirts when I first started, so we always are in a learning process no matter when we start.
