Hi,

as it say in the topic title, im a new pipe smoker.

I purchased 50g of tobacco, and it came in a ziplock bag, it was one of the "house blend" at Blatter and Blatter, the Executive blend.

The tobacco is moist but it smoke quite well, i dont know if its ok or normal that the tobacco is that moist or should i leave the bag open so it dries a bit.

The tobacco tends to burn hot, is that because hes moist?

Thanks.

If it smokes well for you, why bother drying it out?
"The tobacco tends to burn hot"

This is an aromatic tobacco, meaning that it has had sugary syrup to it. Those sugars burn hot. Slow down and smoke it gently.

Most tobaccos that come in zip locks are ready to smoke right then. If you choose to let it dry some you can, it can't hurt. But it may burn faster and hotter, which may effect the flavor of the aromatic. It's realy up to you. Personally I like my tobacco almost crispy, but its my prefference.

If you want the most out of the room note of a aro, I feel you should keep it a little moist. You need a little moisture to release the aromatic scent. I keep a moisturizer button in my jars of aromatics to keep them from drying out too much. But I agree win Big Van, if You like what you have now, enjoy!

If you do come across a bag of tobacco that you feel could be dried out a little, don't leave the bag open to let it dry out; remove a little for smoking and let that dry out. Otherwise, your bag of tobacco will not keep as long.

I think it is generally personal preference. I tend to smoke my tobacco after dryin gfor just about 15 minutes depending on how high the moisture level is. but I do like it just a tad on the moist side. :)

Sweet!! Hope your visit was a good experience!!
As for me, I personally like to have my tobacco on the drier side. In turn, there will be less moisture collecting on the bottom, making the tobacco on the bottom less moist, making that a more pleasurable tastier smoke. But that's just me, I'm also a novice, but that's what works for me.
