Newbie in Orlando!

I grew up in Florida and I remember an Edwards in every mall. I haven't seen one in years, but I'm happy to know that it's still a thing.

I'm not sure if it's the only one left or not. It mainly caters to cigar smokers like most B&M shops these days, but they still have enough pipe-related merch to keep us pipesmokers interested. They even have a buffing wheel available if you need to use it.

Welcome from Seattle. We just recently moved from Central Florida last summer. We lived in Orlando from 2002 to 2013 and then Tampa from 2013 until 2022.

You're correct as far as there not being much of a pipe community in Central Florida, but there is a a pocket of people that get together every now and then at Edwards Pipes and Cigars in Tampa.

@hoosierpipeguy coordinated a get-together early last year that was a good time.

Corona Cigars on Sand Lake used to carry some pipe tobacco blends behind the counter several years ago (Nightcap, Early Morning Pipe, some Ashton blends, etc.), but not sure if they still carry any. Edwards in Tampa carries several bulk blends as well as few tins. It's also a cool spot to smoke a pipe and have a cup of coffee if you're so inclined.

My wife and I both love Tampa, I'm a big baseball fan and the Rays are my favorite team (although Tropicana Field is a horrendous ballpark compared to every other major league ballpark.) We've been interested in moving over to Tampa since we love Clearwater so much, as well as all of the other beaches there.

I have Edwards saved in my to-go list, I will certainly be stopping by to enjoy a bowl and some company!

I'm close to the Corona in Heathrow, it recently opened, very nice cigar shop, unfortunately not sure if they carry any pipe tobacco. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't, as you know, pipe smokers down here are few and far between.

I always create a thread announcing the get together. Keep an eye out. I'm thinking we'll probably try one in March.
