Hello All from England. I am hoping to (Covid allowing) be visiting New York for the first time in a few weeks. Looking forward to it! I just wondered if anyone knows if there are any places that may sell american pipe tobacco blends there?? Being a massive city I was not sure. But I would love the opportunity to find and buy some. Also if anyone knows of good cigar lounges fairly central. I am staying right in Manhattan near central park. Thanks all and Happy New Year!

Soho Cigar Bar on Watts Street is a nice cozy, little place:

I haven't been there in a couple years, maybe more? Author, Nick Tosches, used to hang out there. Unfortunately, I waited too long to have him inscribe a book I designed that he wrote the intro to (he passed away before I went back).

I believe Casa de Montecristo is the cigar lounge my friend belonged to where he had a locker. We had a nice Vintage Port and cigar there before heading to Masa for a most memorable sushi dinner courtesy of my friend (it's been many years since I've been there, but the photo looks right).

I can't think of any tobacconists to recommend. The high sin taxes drove some of them out of New York. I used to go to JR, Arnold's, Nat Sherman—all gone now.

Telephone Barclay-Rex, located now only in lower Manhattan. (Wall Street area more or less.)
Good luck!
If you are staying with a friend, you could order tobacco online to be delivered to friends' abode.

Welcome from the Central Coast of California!

Barclay Rex, on Pearl st, in the Financial District is your best bet. The Davidoff stores, 2 in Manhattan and 1 in Brooklyn, are geared more towards cigar smokers.
If I may suggest, if you happen to visit Barclay and time permits, the Museum of the American Indians is a close 5 min walk, at Bowling Green. In their permanent exhibition there is a solid range Native American pipes. Very fascinating styles and craftsmanship. Admission to the museum is free of charge.
Unfortunately, we don’t have much selection of pipe tobacco in the city.
