I'd like to gently point out that the New York Pipe Show and the Chicago Pipe Show aren't in New York and
Chicago. This isn't because the pipe smokers in the respective cities aren't patriotic to their cities. This is
because the in-city venues are expensive and sometimes difficult to access for people who drive into town.
So these shows really do represent their respective great American cities, it's just that the cities down't always
manage to welcome events that don't have deep, deep pockets. So a salute to New York and Chicago,
and the actual host cities/towns, for making the best accommodations that they can. Pipe shows are some of
the best parts of the hobby, so get to the one nearest you, and maybe others, if you can. I'm looking forward
to April here in the mid-South.
