but alot of experience people have stated it not worth trying to store an aromatic long term. disregarding all the tins of 50 year old captain black grape that are being hoarded and smoked one bowl a month..Generally you wanna remove as much oxygen as possible since it is mainly what reacts with the chemicals in the tobacco (or in this case, the flavorings on the tobacco) to chemically change them. This is essentially what the aging process is when it is desired... the slow, controlled chemical breakdown of the product under specific conditions.
Either stuffing *TIGHTLY* into a mason jar or vacuum sealing in a mylar bag would be considered top-tier strategies in my opinion/experience.
I cant even get an aromatic sample from cornell and deighl to retain the baggy smell for over a week when stuck inside a mason jar. But a tin of orignal choice is more permanent in flavor and smell, then a hot dog in a land fill.
People have recoverred packages of hot dogs that were supposed to have come out untouched after 30 years.
