Hey everyone, this is my first post on the forum. I just bought my first pipe yesterday (a Lorenzetti Julius Caesar)! I haven't had a chance to smoke it yet but I'm very excited to do so.

Welcome! I share your excitement. Pipe smoking is a great hobby. And nice pipe you picked up, let us know how it smokes for you.

Well I chose 3 different tobaccos to start off with: AM Pipe, Columbian Mocha and South Seas. I like the English blends more typically (from friends' pipes that I've smoked), but I felt like trying some aromatic stuff.
My first smoke was underwhelming, to be honest. I could not for the life of me keep it lit! I guess it'll take more practice, but I wasted almost 15 matches trying to smoke a half-bowl. I tried packing it tighter and looser (although I could have experimented with this more), but nothing seemed to work. Any suggestions? (I loved the AM Pipe tobacco though!)

Ahh, remembering my 1st time (w/bacci smoking, do you?) I was

walking the streets in Rome, when a sweet/savory smell traveled

the air, I followed my nose to a B&M where I picked up a Brebbia

Arthur/Noce and some house blend bacci...took it back to my Hotel

(block away from Spanish Steps) found out they had a roof-top

Garden/bar area and quickly went to investigate....well, the view

of the city was amazing and what made it even better was my 1st

smoke from the Brebbia :)
So with that...welcome-welcome and enjoy the wonderful

journey of pipe smoking :)
