Sutliff is a good choice to start with. They make some very approachable blends, some of my favorites. I am a fan of the vanilla they use, which is very lucky for us both. Sutliff really likes using that vanilla on many of their blends. But don't give up on your 7Seas yet. I almost made that mistake. Let it air out a little bit and it starts smoking much better.

Hello all, glad to be here. I'm a new pipe smoker, I bought a Savinelli Trevi 614 smooth finish just love it been smoking sutliff vanilla custard wonderfull smell but the pipe shop I go to sells it as fast as they get it. bought a can of mac baren 7 sea's smells good smokes nice but not as good as the sutliff. Well i just wanted to introduce my self,

Welcome. The only aromatic I truly like is Country Squire's TomBiggbee. Order some online from them. Unique and tasty. Used to be called Old Toby. I still a newbie myself, but that one is good.
