In my case this is particularly true. I actually have a pipe on my desk right now just so I can put something in my mouth every so often. Fidgeting is definitely a prime attraction to this hobby. Actually one of the strategies that I've been trying in order to avoid irritating my mouth is to not even taste the smoke, I just sit there puffing of smoke out my pipe, only rarely drawing. In this case the room note becomes the primary sensory experience.Maybe this is a hold overfrom babyhood. You have seen them, everything goes into their mouth
