New Storient Pipe!!! Arrived today... gorgeous!

why the blue stem? because it is my school color... thats all... plus, I got a a meer to smoke the life out of it while preserving my briar(s)... so I was more concerned with fun than tradition... if it does happen to age nicely for me... then I'll probably get something traditional...
It takes years before the pipe starts "coloring" right?

I suppose that would depend on how often you smoke it!!! :P

Depends how much you smoke and the block's natural formation. Barkar's gets multiple smokes a day and has colored heavily around the shank. Mine gets smoked once every day or two and is taking on an ivory color with darker areas on the shank and tom of the bowl.

Sweet pipe, I want a storient so bad for my next pipe purchase. Have you tried Dog Fish Head Bitches Brew...... its tasty dark imperial stout. It feachers the same album art work on the bottle by Mati Klarwein.

Blue and brown are excellent complimenting colors. I think it will turn out looking sharp!

Before this thread disappears, I did want to report on my first bowl... it was some of that "shortcut to mushrooms" blends from: http://justforhim.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_298_62&products_id=612
I like this blend a lot so far...
...and it was the longest I have ever kept a bowl going off of one light... it was a cool... long... even smoke... lasted a little more than 15 minutes.

I sat in the backyard and pet the dog... yeah... pipe fit me perfect...
