New SMS Meer By S Yanik

Not a repost! This one is by the son and my favorite meer carver Sadik Yanik.

I didn't expect it to be unsmoked but that appears to be the case.

I'm not certain but it looks like the bowl is interchangeable with a cigarette insert but I don't want to risk damaging the pipe to find out.

There's a number written on the inside wall of the chamber and the pipe is rather dusty but it's perfect otherwise and those are super simple issues to deal with. I'm not sure how long ago he left SMS and struck out on his own but both the pipe and its case appear to have been sitting for some time.

Cheroot holder(small cigar). Should be fine to GENTLY remove the pipe bowl and have a small cigar in it if you so desire. Used to be a popular multi function design, you see it on some of the OLD ones...

Yep, that round bowl will come out with a gentle wiggle and the flared tip is for a small cigar. St. George slaying the dragon is one of those classical antique pipe motifs Yanik has used.

Yup. I don;t know why but it's just the direction I feel like growing my collection at the moment. I'll probably change directions in the future but for now I'm having fun and I've got another on the way. I'm also thinking of a couple of commissions but haven't decided yet.

You and hoosier appear to be the premier meer guys on the board. Not an all-together different world, as both briar and meer share the same form and function, but mineral and wood are distinctly apart.

Man, you have some of the coolest figural meers. I like the pre colored parts too looking like some browned peaks on a lemon meringue pie or something. It's harass.
