New Smoker's Pride Package

In short I HATE the new package!

Lane under new ownership has broken one of my rules, if it's not broke DON'T FIX it.

There was NOTHING wrong with the old package. It was compact, practical and did it's job, keeping the tobacco fresh.

The new package takes more storage space at home and on the store shelf (or pegboard). While I mostly use the cherry and vanilla blended, I do like a brief change of pace once in a while. Now with the new obscene package my retailer of decades no longer carries half as many Smoker's Pride varieties. I totally understand this, if I were a retailer and faced with this situation, I would either DROP the brand/line or cut back the selection to FIT the Space devoted to the brand/line.
Looks like I might be changing brands completely! I did that not too long ago when Edies downsized their ice cream. The downsized container made headlines, what was NOT said was my favorite flavor looked the same, cost the same, package loooked the same but smaller. However when I ran low of my open container of Double fudge brownie it Was NOT the same high quality ice cream, not even cheap ice cream but "frozen dairy desert" Never bought a single edies product since.

What's the difference form the old vs new? What I see is the RYO is pretty much the same as all the RYO packaging and the pipe tobacco is in the same long bags?

If you're going to spend $15, buy THIS (scroll down for the 8oz tins). Yes, it's 8oz, not 16 or even 12, but It's night and day quality-wise. Not knocking Lane. I love 1-Q and MV-1000 and buy it all the time, but you can't equal the value of H&H for that price.

EDIT: They are still the same price, and they are not in stock. Your review anf hype has made black House legendary.

Pictures of the old and new bags below. arealgijoe, not much to say other than sorry you don't like the new bags, and you can go ahead and blame me.
Having said there's not much else to say, I'll go and say this: The new bags have far better barrier properties, which will keep the tobacco fresher, longer. The zipper seal is far superior as well. As we can manufacture these bags on site (vs. the old bags, which we had to purchase from another vendor), we can produce the product at a lower cost, which helps us from having to raise prices even as the cost of raw tobacco increases.
Again, not attempting to change your opinion in anyway, just wanted to provide some background on the change.

While change is hard for some to get over, eventually people will get over it. While I don't smoke Smokers Pride, the new packaging looks more, modern, then the long bags
Edit: Baron- I'm with you, I'll always smoke 1-Q and M-1000 and some BCA, but for 15 bucks for a 8oz of H&H...I'm in!

The ones on the left look like they are for cat/dog treats. Is that the new design? I can see how it is less compact but I don't see it being a huge deal.
The ones on the right scream budget brand (which is fitting) but I would definitely pass them by in the store. Reminds me of the Brigham blends - the lame packaging deters me every time.
All in all, if the new ones offer superior freshness then I don't see what you have to lose Mr. OP...
