Try an ounce each of Cornell and Diehl's bulk Old Joe Krantz, Billy Budd, and Big 'n Burley, for an adventure into the burley school of blends. If you don't like 'em, save 'em, since you may rediscover them later and like then on second thought.

Mac Baren's HH Bold Kentucky is a very smooth but strong flake. It is fantastic alone or with other tobaccos, giving them a richness and depth.

When you get the chance, try out Lakeland Dark by Samuel G. It's 1792 but without the tonquin. Alas, this is out of stock at SPC, but it is worth it if you get the chance. Same deal with Dark Birds Eye from G&H.
Definitely give 3P's a shot!

At least you fell in love with Samuel Gawith which is harder to find but still being produced... unlike me who fell in love with McClelland Virginias that are now discontinued and impossible to find without selling a kidney.

First I just ordered the warm horse

Second I can't seem to get my tongue to accept any Virginia other than ps navy and bullseye flake.I have some fvf and mc 40th and rather have gawith licorice flake anyday.Last I would trade tobacco with people but there is no way I will ever pay the the prices that people ask for tins that are not even 5 years old.Nonpipe smokers buy these supposed mythical tins with the purpose of making money. If we wait paying those prices they would quit buying our tobacco.Just a thought.Ill be keeping my kidneys.

I do not have licorice flake to trade, and you will not have any problem moving McC 40th of FVF, in fact those are quite sought after. However, I highly recommend two things. One, keep them and seal them and let them age. They will only get better. And your tastes will change over the next 7 years. Two, really relax and slow down with a Virginia, and put it in a narrow chamber, smoking as slowly as you possibly can. You'll find aged Virginia much better likely, and it is a fickle beast that takes some getting used to. It smokes differently than other tobaccos.
