New blend, Galloping Gertie, available at Pipes & Cigars. It is a Virginia blend. That is all.

Seattle Pipe Club Galloping Gertie is one of the more unique blends you'll come across. It's a Virginia/Perique blend, but it has a lot more going on. For one thing, some of the Virginias are stoved until black, and a bit of toasted Green River Burley is also in the mix. Then, to make things even more intriguing, some Turkish tobacco is added. Finally, the mixture is pressed into a crumble cake to marry and further mature the flavors. It's all here - sweet, spicy, earthy, and savory flavors will treat your palate to an experience you won't soon forget...

Shanez, I had to look up the name and then was sucked into an hour long journey of the engineering behind the bridge, it's collapse, and the rebuild known as Sturdy Gurtie! Man, pipe smoking can be very educational.

I like several SPC blends and am glad to see one that doesn't have Latakia in it for a change. If it were only a VaPer, I'd probably pass it by. Hoping the Turkish is a bit more than a condiment. I'll certainly buy at least one tin to try.
