OK some of you may remember me saying awhile back that my uncle inherited greandfathers pipes when he died. Well, I talked to him the other day and he said he didnt get them. So that means that one of four other siblings my dad has might have them. My dad remembers one of the pipes as being "The ceramic on with a metal lid that he got in germany." Now my grandpa was in germany during WWII, so that means that pipe is somewhere around 70 years old. Aslo I'm not sure if it is ceramic. It could be a meer. My dad wouldnt know the difference between a meer and a ceramic. Plus its been nearly 30 years since my dad last saw the pipe. Now I really hope I can get these because my grandfather died before I was born, so I never met him and it would be nice to have a piece of him. Also given how old they all are they would be great in my collection.

Uber, I would think, the pressure you can exhibit would be characterized in that: you are the one that has the expertise, the knowledge, the appreciation, and the skill to preserve the legacy of your grandfather.

So, I would say; find who has them, and press for your legacy. Ties to your past are some of the most important to you and your familial history.

You, who can appreciate his legacy and posterity for its intrinsic and familial import, are the one who can preserve his memory with the dignity and respect he deserves.
That is my opinion; based on the knowledge you have gained over the brief time I have known you. It is my considered opinion you are the one that deserves to care for that particular realm of your familial legacy.
